RURAL TOURISM

Rural tourism focuses on taking part in rural life. Many villages of Armenia are tourist attractions. Visitors have the opportunity to be close to hospitable Armenian villagers, taste their food products, see the production process and experience all the peculiarities of village life.
Wineries are some of the hotspots of rural tourism. Armenia is one of the oldest winemaking countries in the world. The climate of Armenia, which is located in a subtropical region, is defined by its mountains. Due to the country’s ideal climate conditions a full range of wines can be produced.
Cuisine is also one of the key aspects of rural tourism. Armenian cuisine is as ancient as its history. Armenian culinary traditions are over 2,000 years old. Armenian cuisine resembles а poem, where each verse has its own flavor. It guides us to the feasts of Armenian rulers, shepherds and monks, enriched with old Eastern recipes. Part of every Armenian holiday celebration is the abundant table covered with delicious food.
Anyone who knocks on an Armenian’s door is a guest.
